          On 24 April 2018, Mr. Jesda Katavetin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, Mr. Chainarong Keratiyutwong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Sudan with residence in Cairo, and delegation, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Kamal Obeid, Vice Chancellor of the International University of Africa (IUA) in Khartoum, during the delegation’s visit to Sudan to join the 3rd Thai - Sudan Joint Working Group (JWG). Both sides discussed ways and means to broaden cooperation between the University and the Thai private sector. Furthermore, Mr. Jesda Katavetin expressed his appreciation to the University for consistently providing scholarship awards to Thai students every year. The IUA is home to more than 300 Thai students, and allocates over 100 scholarships to Thai nationals annually.

          The delegation also met with representatives of the Thai Student Society of the IUA to discuss living conditions and present sports equiptment, among others items, for the Society’s future use.
