Following H.E. Mr. Han Zheng’s appointment as Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, and H.E. Mr. Wang Yi’s appointment as State Councilor and re-appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China on 19 March 2018, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, sent congratulatory letters to H.E. Mr. Han Zheng and H.E. Mr. Wang Yi with the following messages:

 

1. Congratulatory letter to H.E. Mr. Han Zheng:

 

Excellency, 

 

       I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency my sincere congratulations on your appointment as Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. Entrusting you with this important position is clearly a reflection of the trust and confidence the Government and the people of China have in you and a recognition of your outstanding achievements.

       I am certain that, with your extensive experience in economic affairs, especially your widely recognized achievements in the transformation of Shanghai into a world class metropolis, China’s economy will continue to grow to new heights, thereby contributing to prosperity, stability and development of the entire region.         

       I still recall Your Excellency’s visit to Thailand in May 2016 when we had fruitful discussions during our luncheon on various issues of mutual interest. I wish to take this opportunity to reaffirm Thailand’s commitment to advancing the cordial ties between Thailand and China and to further enhancing our comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the years to come for the mutual benefits of our two countries and peoples.

       May I wish you good health and every success in your new position.

       I have the honour to express my heartfelt congratulations to Your Excellency on your re-appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and the added portfolio as State Councilor of the People’s Republic of China. That you have been entrusted with such enormous responsibilities is a clear reflection of the unequivocal trust and confidence placed in you by the Government and the people of China. 

       I am confident that with your extensive knowledge and experience in international affairs, you will be able to advance to new heights China’s constructive role and contributions to regional and international peace, stability and development. 

       On my part, it has been a great pleasure for me to work closely with you in deepening the ties of friendship between our two countries. I am particularly appreciative of your kindly taking the time to host me during my visit to Beijing on 14 March 2018 and engage in discussions on a wide range of issues of mutual interests. I therefore wish to reaffirm my earnest desire to continue working closely with you in further strengthening Thailand - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. I strongly believe that, with your continued support, our relations and cooperation will continue to deepen in all fields in the years to come.
