60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Logo Award Ceremony

          On 14 February 2018, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Republic of Korea jointly organized the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Logo Award Ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co - hosted by Mr. Singtong Lappisatepun, Director General of the Department of East Asian Affairs and H.E. Mr. Noh Kwang-il, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand. 
          The Director-General and the Ambassador delivered remarks congratulating on the close relationship between Thailand and the Republic of Korea as strategic partners in all areas, such as trade, investment, security, education, and tourism. The 60th anniversary marks a very auspicious occasion, as both countries look forward to further deepening and strengthening cooperation between them. 
          The logo competition was co-organized by the Department of East Asian Affairs and the Embassy of Republic of Korea from 7 December 2017 until 15 January 2018, during which over 140 applications were submitted. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea are pleased to announce that Mr. Puthipat Buppa, the undergraduate student from Silapakorn University, Thailand, was chosen as the winner of the logo competition. 
          Mr. Buppa’s design consists of the number 60, representing the 60th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and the Republic of Korea. The colours blue and red are present in both countries’ national flags. The number 6 is designed as a shape of an elephant’s head and trunk, symbolizing Thailand, while Number 0 is designed based on Taegeukgi, or Yin and Yang symbol, which is in the centre of the Republic of Korea’s national flag, representing a perfect harmony and balance, including a continuous movement within the sphere of infinity. Moreover, the design of the curve represents integrity, reconciliation and harmony.
