         On 3 February 2018, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka, in coordination with Ashiya Cosmopolitan Association (ACA), organized “Thailand Day” at Ashiya Municipal Shio-Ashiya Exchange Center in Ashiya City attended by 130 registered guests. Mr. Munin Paniswasdi, Consul - General of Thailand in Osaka, presided over the event. The event’s attendees received a warm welcome from Mr. Keiji Toda, President of ACA. Mr. Ken Yamanaka, Mayor of Ashiya City, also attended the event. 
         “Thailand Day” featured a variety of activities including the presentation on “Charms of Thailand” by Mr. Shigeyo Kimura, Chairman of Japan-Thailand Education Exchange Society, an activity called “Beauty of Traditional Thai Dance” consisting of the demonstration of costumes in traditional Thai dance and the dance performance, Thai fruit and vegetable carving demonstration, a warm reception of Thai snacks and Japanese green tea, an exhibition on the “Sufficiency Economy Philosophy”, the promotion of Thai tourism, and lucky draws of quality Thai products.
          “Thailand Day” accomplished its main objective of strengthening Thailand-Japan relations, especially at people-to-people level. It also helped promote Thailand in Japan in various aspects.
