          On 4 January 2018, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, hosted a dinner in honour of H.E. Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, on the occasion of the latter’s visit to Thailand during 4 - 5 January 2018.
          On this occasion, both sides discussed bilateral issues and agreed to foster greater links through the exchange of visits at all levels.
          The two ministers discussed the preparation for the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand’s visit to New Delhi to attend the ASEAN - India Commemorative Summit in January 2018 alongside other ASEAN leaders. They also exchanged views on bilateral issues, including cooperation on trade, investment, and maritime security as well as connectivity projects linking India and South East Asia through land and maritime connectivity, especially the development of India - Myanmar - Thailand Trilateral Highway Project. 
          The two sides discussed regional issues including the development of “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”, of which India is one of the key players. They also exchanged views on renewable energy as well as multilateral cooperation frameworks, including Mekong-Ganga Cooperation (MGC) and Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) in which Thailand and India were co-founding members.
