Following the earthquake which struck the Islamic Republic of Iran on 12 November 2017, in the province of Kermanshah, resulting in many deaths and injuries, H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs,
sent messages of condolences to H.E. Mr. Hassan Rouhani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and H.E. Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as follows:
1. Message of Condolences from Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Excellency,
It is with profound sadness to learn of the powerful earthquake that had struck Iran, causing many loss of lives and injuries and massive damage to properties in Kermanshah province and its surrounding.
On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, I have the honour to extend my heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to
Your Excellency and, through you, to the families of the bereaved and those affected by this disaster. We are deeply grieved by the continuing rise in death toll and number of those injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with your people during this tough time.
I am confident that under your strong leadership, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts for those affected will be carried out effectively. In this time
of grief, Thailand stands ready to assist Iran in mitigating the effects of this natural disaster.

2. Message of Condolences from Minister of Foreign Affairs to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Excellency,
I am deeply saddened upon learning of the most recent catastrophic earthquake which has caused the loss of lives and injuries as well as severe damage to properties in Kermanshah province and its surrounding areas in Iran.
I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to Your Excellency and, through you, to the bereaved families of the victims in this tragic incident. My heart also goes to those injured. I wish for speedy recovery to the injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with all Iranians.
I am positive that with the Iran’s resilience and strong spirit of solidarity, the affected areas will soon be rehabilitated and restored. Nevertheless, Thailand stands ready to provide any assistance to Iran through close coordination between our authorities concerned.
