TICA organized study visit on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for Delegation from the Republic of Uganda

          During 17 – 21 July 2017, the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, organized a study visit on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and community enterprise for Mr. Morris Seddy Ekwang, Principal Policy Analyst, Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda, and Ms. Grace Choda Adong, Undersecretary, Ministry of Local Government. The program included study visit to the following locations;
          1. Agriculture Service Centre of Chaipattana Foundation, Pathum Thani Province
          2. Baan Paktop Chawa in Bang Sai, Ayutthaya Province (“From water hyacinth management to hyacinth handicraft product”)
          3. Department of Farm Mechanics, Faculty of Agriculture at Kasetsart University Kamphaeng Saen Campus in Nakhon Pathom Province
          4. Rama IX Reservoir Project, Pathum Thani Province
          5. Bhumirak Dhamachart Center, Nakhon Nayok Province
          This study visit is the first step of introducing the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy that can be applied as an alternative form of community development. Uganda has expressed interest in working with Thailand which could lead to sustainable development under the SEP for SDGs Partnership and the achievement of Goal 17 of the SDGs.
