Thailand to provide International Training Courses on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP)

Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in cooperation with Prince of Songkla University, Mahidol University, Naresuan University, and Khon Kaen University, will organize international training courses for developing partners namely Asia, Africa, Latin America, Middle East, America, South Pacific, and Europe to share Thailand’s expertise and experience as well as the theme “Sufficiency Economy Philosophy or SEP” with an aim to promoting and achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) through constructive collaboration between Thailand and developing partners. Four international training courses in June 2017 are offered as follows:
 
1. “Health Promotion and Health Care Management for Preschool Children” during 5-30 May 2017 at Prince of Songkla University, Thailand. Attending the course are participants from Botswana, Cape Verde, Egypt, Lao PDR, Lebanon, Liberia, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Rwanda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Sri Lanka and Thailand;
 
2. “Adapting to Climate Change: Facing the Consequence” during 5-23 June 2017 at Mahidol University, Thailand. Attending the course are participants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Chad, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Madagascar, Malawi, Morocco, Niger, Samoa, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam;
 
3. “Integration of Sufficiency Economy for Empowerment on Mobilizing Sustainable Development” during 5-25 June 2017at Naresuan University, Thailand. Attending the course are participants from Algeria, Bhutan, Ecuador, Egypt, Fiji, Gambia, Kenya, Kyrgyz Republic, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Suriname and Zimbabwe; and
 
4. “Tropical Medicine, Community Health Care and Research” during 5 June – 2 July 2017 at Khon Kaen University, Thailand. Attending the course are participants from India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Samoa, Sri Lanka, Swaziland, Turkey and Uganda.
 
Between 2012 – April 2017, TICA has been providing training courses under the programme “Annual International Training Course (AITC) to 1,280 participants from 99 countries. AITC is a vital tool in strengthening cooperation between Thailand and strategic countries as well as increasing Thailand’s role in the international platform.
