On 24 May 2017, H.E. Mr. Ruengdej Mahasaranond, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Ecuador, residence in Lima, attended the inauguration ceremony of President Lenin Voltaire Moreno Garcés of the Republic of Ecuador in Quito as the representative of the Royal Thai Government.

 

The Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of Ecuador established diplomatic relations on 15 January 1980 and has since continually expanded cooperation, particularly in trade and academics. This year, the Republic of Ecuador accepted the chairmanship of G77 from the Kingdom of Thailand, and expressed interest to further cooperate with the Kingdom of Thailand in the implementation of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy as a means of supporting sustainable development.
