The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand will organize a seminar to promote trade and investment between Thailand and Latin America entitled “Latin America, Thailand and beyond : Partnership in Global Value Chains” on Tuesday 30 May 2017, from 09.00 to 16.00 hours, at Lotus room 5 – 7 Centara Grand, Central World Hotel. H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand will deliver opening remarks at this seminar. 
 
On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle, former President of the Republic of Chile and Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Chile for Asia-Pacific, will deliver a Keynote Speech on “Latin America Region, the Pacific Alliance and Perspectives for Thailand”. Other speakers from Latin America include Mr. Rodolfo Villalba, Vice President of Argentina Investment and Trade Promotion Agency - AAICI), who will provide information on the policy of promoting trade and investment of Argentina. Other partipants include Brazilian Business Consultant and Latin American Ambassadors to Thailand including Colombia, Panama, Mexico, Cuba and Peru.
 
Thai speakers include Mr. Bunn Kasemsup, Managing Director, SCG Trading Co., Ltd. and Mr. Jak Chamikorn, Chairman and CEO, Wyncoast Industrial Park Plc. who will share their trading and investment experiences in Latin America. Moreover, H.E. Mr. Saroj Thanasunti, Ambassador of Thailand to Santiago, H.E. Mr. Narisroj Fuangrabil, Ambassador of Thailand to Buenos Aires and Mr. Teerapong Vanichanon, Chargé d'affaires of Thailand to Brasilia will provide information about Latin America and the Royal Thai Embassies’ activities in promoting trade and investment in Latin America.
 
The group will travel to Thailand from 28 May to 4 June 2017. They comprise thirty-one business and government representatives from Chile, Argentina and Brazil who will attend THAIFEX - World of Food ASIA 2017. The delegation will also pay courtesy calls on cabinet ministers including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Commerce. Furthermore, they will have meetings with the Thai private sector. This trip is possible as a result of joint collaboration between the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand together with the Royal Thai Embassy in Santiago, the Royal Thai Embassy in Buenos Aires and the Royal Thai Embassy in Brasilia.
