          On 17 May 2017, H.E. Mr. Tsend Munkh - Orgil, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, during the his visit to Thailand to attend the 73rd Session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific held on 15 - 19 May 2017 in Bangkok and discussed ways to further promote closer cooperation between Thailand and Mongolia.

        During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral cooperation including exchanges of high - level visit between Thailand and Mongolia. The two sides discussed ways and means on how to further promote both bilateral and regional cooperation in various areas including technical cooperation, trade and investment. Both sides also concurred that Thailand and Mongolia should organize the first meeting of the Consultative Body on Bilateral Cooperation at the earliest opportunity. They also exchanged views on the regional situation and discussed pending bilateral agreements which could help promote greater trade and investment between the two countries. In addition, both sides reaffirmed reciprocal support to each other, particularly in multilateral frameworks.

         H.E. Mr. Tsend Munkh - Orgil was appointed the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia on 22 July 2016.  He also served as the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2006. Mr. Munkh - Orgil served as Deputy Minister for Justice and Home Affairs of Mongolia from 2000 to 2004, and Minister for Justice and Home Affairs from 2007 to 2008.
