Study Visit under the Sustainable Community Development Project and the Annual International Training Course

          Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, emphasizes the importance of cooperation in sharing Thailand’s best practices and experiences to developing countries to contribute to the global effort in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
          During April to May 2017, TICA organized a study visit under the Sustainable Community Development Project and will hold the Annual International Training Course as follows:
          1. During 24 – 28 April 2017, TICA organized a study visit under the Sustainable Community Development Project on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) for the delegations from the Republic of Mozambique. This study visit aimed to introduce the SEP as an alternative form of community development in Mozambique, which can also be applied in other interested countries in Africa. This cooperation framework is Thailand’s policy along with Goal 17 of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals or SEP for SDGs Partnership.
          2. In cooperation with Mahidol University, TICA will organize a training course on “Natural Disaster Management” during 8 - 26 May 2017. This course aims to share Thailand’s best practices and experiences in natural disaster management which will help foster the capacity of the participating countries in coping with the global challenge of climate change.
          3. In cooperation with the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health of Thailand, TICA will organize a training course on “Management of Antiretroviral Treatment and Long-Term Adherence to ART” during 15 - 26 May 2017. This course aims to share Thailand’s best practices and experiences in 
the management of Antiretroviral Treatment such as the comprehensive implementation of the ART programme in the country’s universal health coverage scheme.
          4. In cooperation with Chiang Mai University, TICA will organize a training course on “Green Energy for Low Carbon Society” during 15-29 May 2017. This course aims to share Thailand’s best practices and experiences in renewable energy including solar energy and biomass energy which will be part of our contribution to the global effort in achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 on Affordable and Clean Energy.
          TICA has been working with Thai institutions and universities to organize roughly 20 different courses each year with 20 to 25 participants from each target country. From 2012 to 2016, there were more than 1,200 AITC participants from 96 countries.
