Thailand expresses its deep concern over the ballistic missile test conducted by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on 12 February 2017, which constitutes a clear violation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions concerned and has heightened tensions in the Asia - Pacific region.
It is of utmost importance for the DPRK to heed the repeated expressions of concerns of the international community over the DPRK nuclear issue, including those recently voiced by the 23rd ASEAN Regional Forum in Vientiane in July 2016, in which the DPRK was an active participant.
Together with the international community, Thailand strongly urges the DPRK to comply with the relevant UNSC resolutions and to cooperate fully and promptly with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regarding its nuclear programme.
