On 28 December 2016, H.E. Mr. Javier Becker Marshall, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to the Kingdom of Thailand and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, to bid farewell upon the completion of his tenure. The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Becker’s commitment to the promotion of Thai – Chilean bilateral relations.

On 19 January 2017, H.E. Mrs. Busaya Mathelin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, hosted a farewell luncheon in honour of H.E. Mr. Javier Becker Marshall, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to the Kingdom of Thailand and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, upon the completion of his tenure in Thailand, at the Thanat Khoman Room, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangkok.           

On this occasion, H.E. Mrs. Busaya Mathelin congratulated Ambassador Becker on his audience with His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on 12 January 2017, during which he was bestowed the Royal Insignia of the Knight Grand Cross (First Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant. Moreover, the Permanent Secretary praised Ambassador Becker for his efforts in enhancing bilateral relations between Thailand and Chile during the past 5 years, and reiterated Thailand’s readiness to work closely with Chile and the new Chilean Ambassador.
