       On 23 October 2016, Dr. Kriangsak Kittichaiseree, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation, presided over the Royal Khatina ceremony to present the Kratina robe from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, graciously granted to Ms. Sookpichaya Charrunchon at Bhuddaviharn Temple in St. Petersburg. The event was attended by devout Thais from St. Petersburg, from Thailand and from Canada, along with representatives from the St. Petersburg Government, a lecturer from St. Petersburg State University, and Russian buddhists, totaling around 60 people. 
        The ceremony started with the narration of Kratina history by venerable Monk Chatree Hemapandha, Head of Bhuddaviharn Temple, followed by the presentation of Kratina robe. After that, all participants observed a moment of silence to pay homage to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and sang the Royal Anthem. The event was concluded with a commemoration of the contribution to Thai – Russian relationship of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and Tsar Nicolas II.
