                 On 23 October 2016, Mr. Kiattikhun Chartprasert, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden, and his spouse, Ms. Pakkanan Winijchai, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand in Stockholm, Mr. Viruj Ruchipongse, General Manager of Thai Airways International Co. Ltd. in Stockholm, as well as the officials and families from Thai Embassy and Thai Airways attended a merit-making ceremony at Chulalongkorn’s Memorial Pavilion in Ragunda to commemorate King Chulalongkorn Day. Mr. Jonas Andersson, Mayor of Ragunda, and many of Thai people and their families as well as Swedish people also attended the ceremony.
               On this occasion, Ambassador Kiattikhun paid homage to His Majesty King Chulalongkorn and highligted the development of relations between Thailand and Sweden in many areas. At the same time, Ambassador Kiattikhun expressed deepest sorrow on the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the grandson of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn, on 13 October 2016, which was the greatest loss for the Thai people, and led the participants to observe a minute of silence for King Chulalongkorn and King Bhumibol Adulyadej. After the ceremony, Ambassador Kiattikhun led the participants including Mr. Andersson to attend a merit-making Buddhist ceremony, in dedication to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, held at Piyathammaram Temple.
