On 14 October 2016 at 10.00 am., the Royal Thai Embassy, led by His Excellency Mr. Soonthorn Chaiyindeepum, Ambassador of Thailand, organized prayer and meditation as a homage to the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Over 300 Thai nationals and Friends of Thailand in Qatar attended the ceremony with deep sadness.

            During 16 - 18 October 2016, a book of condolences was opened for the diplomatic missions in Qatar and the officials of Qatari authorities at the Residence of the Thai Ambassador. The Embassy wishes to take this opportunity to express our deepest appreciation to the Ambassadors and diplomats as well as Mr.Khalid Ibrahim Abdulrahman Al-Hamar, Director of the Asian Affairs Department, MOFA of Qatar, for their messages of condolences.

            On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of Qatar, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Deputy Emir of Qatar, also sent the messages of condolences to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn on the passing away of the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on 13 October 2016.
