             On 13 October 2016, Ambassador Vijavat Isarabhakdi, accompanied by Mrs. Wannipa Isarabhakdi along with the officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy in Ottawa, participated in a Buddhist ceremony at Ratchadhamviriyaram 1 Temple in Ottawa. The ceremony was organized by the Thai Association of Ottawa (TAO), on the occasion of the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Thursday, 13th October B.E. 2559 (2016), in Bangkok, at the age of 89, in the 70th Year of His Majesty’s reign.
            The ceremony included a Buddhist chant in Pali, a period of meditation and a Dhamma talk. Numerous members of the Thai community in Ottawa and Canadian friends gathered at the Temple to mourn the great loss of His Majesty King Bhumibol.
The Thai community also had the opportunity to sign a Condolence Book organized by the Royal Thai Embassy. The book will also be opened for signing at the Royal Thai Embassy from Friday, 14 October – Tuesday, 18 October 2016 (including the weekend) from 10:00 - 12:00 hrs. and from 13:00 - 16:00 hrs.
