On 18 August 2016, H.E. Mr. Mourad Belhassen, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to Thailand with residence in Jakarta, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. The Ambassador visited Thailand to have an audience with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn to present his Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia to the Kingdom of Thailand.

During the courtesy call, both sides discussed Thai - Tunisia bilateral relations and cooperation. The Minister of Foreign Affairs was confident that the Ambassador’s vast experiences would be instrumental in enhancing relations between Thailand and Tunisia for the mutual interests of the two peoples.

The diplomatic relations between Thailand and Tunisia was established in 1976, and the two countries have enjoyed cordial relations in all areas for almost half a century.
