The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised “The Meeting of Honorary Consuls of African countries to Thailand 2016” on Wednesday 17 August 2016, at Dusit Thani Hotel, Bangkok.
The meeting primarily aims to promote stronger partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Consulates of African countries in Thailand. It also serves as a platform for discussion and exchanges of views on Thailand - Africa foreign policies.
The event was divided into two sessions as follows;
1) The meeting and brainstorming session in the morning hosted by Ms. Penprapa Vongkovit, Acting Director - General, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs;
2) The luncheon in honour of Honorary Consuls of African countries to Thailand hosted by Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was concluded successfully with approximately 40 participants, including Honorary Consuls of African countries to Thailand as well as administrators and officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was in accordance with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ policy of “inclusive diplomacy”, which will steer Thailand’s foreign policy towards the needs and expectations of the people.
