During 21 – 23 July 2016, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with Thailand Trade and Economic Office (Taipei) and the Thailand Foundation led a group of executives from the National Federation of Motion Pictures and Contents Association, Sahamongkolfilm International, and M-Thirty Nine Co., Ltd, represented by Ms. Darancharas Sukheviriya, leading actor from the Thai movie ’Ghost is all around’ and Mr. Worrawech Danuwong, actor and film director, as well as Thai media, to attend the Thai Film Festival 2016 in Taipei. The event included the following activities:

1. ‘’Meet and Greet’’ : Ms. Darancharas ‘Data’, leading star of Ghost is all around and Mr. Worrawech ‘Dan’, actor and film director, met more than 60 fans, gave an exclusive interview and  autographs to fans from Taipei and other cities in Taiwan.

2. The Thai Film Festival 2016 opening ceremony, which was held at Vie Show Cinema, Xinyi, Taipei, was presided over by Mr. Piroon Laismit, Executive Director of Thailand Trade and Economic Office Taipei. In this occasion, Data and Dan were invited to walk the red carpet; Data also sang a soundtrack of the film Ghost is all around. The event captivated more than 300 guests.

           During 22 – 24 July 2016 five Thai films were screened at Shinkong Cineplex (Ximen, Taipei): (1) Ghost is all Around; (2) Senior; (3) Look Tung Signature; (4) Mon Love 10 Muen; and  (5)The Inspirations (Khun Tong Daeng).

           The event is part of the cultural diplomacy projects under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aiming to promote Thailand’s good relations with other countries and economies, especially at the people-to-people level through Thai films and television series. The Ministry also attaches importance to raising the profile of potential young Thai artists in all fields including in film and television industry to the international level.
