On 23 June 2015, from 9.30 am to 2.00 pm, Thailand Trade and Economic Office has organized the Event “Taste of Thai in Taipei 2016” at Very Thai restaurant, Fuxing branch.  During the Event, the participants learnt how to cook Thai authentic food, demonstrated and taught by Thai chef. The participants including spouses of ambassadors/ representatives of international offices, spouses of Taiwanese officers, and female executives from leading companies in Taiwan.

            Executive Director of Thailand Trade and Economic Office, Mr. Piroon Laismit, together with his spouse, Mrs. Sathatip Laismit, welcomed the participants with warm speech.  After that, the participants have had a chance to cook 3 kinds of Thai authentic cuisines; Thai green curry with chicken, Thai hot and sour soup with shrimp (Tom Yum Goong) and a dessert, pumpkin in coconut cream. The Event proceeded with fun and relaxing atmosphere.

            After the cooking class, the Executive-Director and his spouse hosted the luncheon (Thai cuisine) for the participants. The Director of Thai Trade office, Ms. Nannatee Wiboonchutikula and the Chairman of Very Thai restaurant, Mr. Charles Hsu has also joined the Event.

            “Taste of Thai in Taipei 2016” has been organized under the “Thailand : Kitchen of the World” policy, which is strongly promoted by the Royal Thai government. The Event aimed to demonstrate the charming of Thai cuisine to be better known in Taiwan. The Event gained considerably attention and satisfaction from the participants.  As a result, many of them asked for this kind of event to be held again more often.
