Following the the incident in Orlando, Florida on 12 June 2016, H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand sent a message of condolences to The Honourable Barack Obama, President of the United States of America, while H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, sent a message of condolences to The Honourable John Kerry, Secretary of State of the United States of America, as follows:

Dear Mr. President,

I am deeply saddened about the news of the mass shooting that took place in Orlando, Florida. On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I convey our deepest sympathies to families of those innocent people who lost their lives, as well as those who were injured in this dreadful event.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the American people during this moment of sorrow and bereavement.

Message of Condolences from H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, to The Honourable John Kerry, Secretary of State of the United States of America

Dear Secretary Kerry,

          I am deeply troubled and saddened upon learning the news of the horrific massacre at  a nightclub in Orlando. The people of Thailand share with you and the American people this sorrow and the suffering pain of losses.

          Just like the U.S., Thailand has attempted to do its best in promoting pluralism and equal rights of all citizens regardless of their genders, religions, or cultural preferences.  We in Thailand, therefore, deeply empathize with the families of those who have lost their loved ones in the brutal and discriminate attack. In this connection, I wish to convey through you my sincere condolences to the families of the victims.

           I truly hope that our American friends will soon overcome this tragedy and evolve even stronger.
