                   On 30 May 2016, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised the 3rd MFA CEO Forum The 3rd MFA CEO Forum offers a close look inside the country’s retail business that has propelled the tourism sector and Thai economy. The Forum was well received by Ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps from 28 countries.


                   The short opening remarks by Permanent Secretary, Dr. Apichart Chinwanno, was followed by CEO of Siam Piwat Company Limited and prominent businesswoman, Mrs. Chadatip Chutrakul, who shared the company’s mission to strengthen Thailand’s position as a world-class destination and its contribution to tourism of the country. Siam Piwat Group has become internationally recognized as one of the most successful leaders in retail market and commercial real estate, especially landmark properties in Thailand like Siam Paragon and the upcoming ICONSIAM, which is a joint venture project with the Japanese leading department store, Takashimaya. Mrs. Chutrakul also touched upon tackling the ever-changing consumer behavior and today’s fierce competition in the retail business.


                   The talk encouraged the participants to share ideas on the constructive role and excellence of the private sector towards Thailand’s economic growth and global recognition.


                   The MFA CEO Forums provides a venue for the Ambassadors and the diplomatic corps to learn firsthand from the leading Thai private sector different dimensions of the country’s economic potential. It also offers opportunities for Thailand’s top CEOs to partner with Ambassadors and the diplomatic corps as well as highlight economic potential of the country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to organise the Forum continuously to enhance economic engagement between Thailand and foreign countries.
