On the full moon of 20 May 2016, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai together with Thai community in Dubai and the Northern Emirates organized an activity  to mark the day of Vesak that Lord Buddha was born, attained enlightenment, and passed away in his eightieth year.

            The making merit activities such as listening to Dhamma preaching, praying, meditation, candle lighting ceremony were led by a Thai monk from Thai Meditation Center, UAE. The event was presided by  Mr. Unnop Buranasate, Consul-General.  the Consulate staff and more than 60 Buddhist followers, both Thais and foreigners also attended.
