            The Royal Thai Embassy in Nairobi organized “The Propagation of Buddhism and the Strengthening of the Solidarity of Thai Community in Nairobi Project”, which took place on 13-15 May 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya. The project was a part of the implementation of a cultural diplomacy of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and aimed at propagating Buddhism in East Africa and strengthening relationship between all Buddhist practitioners in Kenya.
            In this regard, the Royal Thai Embassy, in cooperation with the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Nairobi and the Nairobi Buddhist Temple, arranged activities on the International Recognition of the Day of Vesak at the United Nations Office at Nairobi and Vesakha Puja Day at the Nairobi Buddhist Temple on Friday 13th and Sunday 15th May 2016, respectively. Moreover, the Royal Thai Embassy with the Buddhist community in Kenya had enshrined a Buddha statue from Thailand at the Temple as a centre of Thai Buddhists in Nairobi.
