On 22-23 April 2016 the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi organized Songkran Festival 2016 at the Royal Thai Embassy and the Ambassador’s Residence.

            The approximately 300 participants, comprised Thai Community and their families and Thai workers who enjoyed various activities, such as the auspicious water pouring ceremony of the Buddha statue, Miss Songkran Beauty Pageant Contest, Children in Thai traditional dress contest, and Thai performances, medical check up by a medical team from the Ministry of Health. The next day, Thai Community attended a whole day of Buddhist meditation retreat taught by Phrakhrupalad Vimolsiriwat and Phramaha Bunsuan Chuabunmee from Wat Chon Prathan Rangsarit, Bangkok, Thailand.
