On 21 March 2016, the Royal Thai Embassy in the Czech Republic, the Thai Trade Center in Prague, together with the Czech School Canteens Association and the MAKRO Shopping Mall, organized the launching ceremony of the joint project ‘Day of Thai Cuisine for Czech School Canteens’ at MAKRO Academy in Prague. The project aims to widely promote Thai cuisine in the Czech School Canteens by creating a pilot project in 21 Czech schools around the country. In this pilot project, 3 kinds of Thai dishes will be served for 8 to 16 year-old students in the schools, up to 15,000 portions monthly. The promotion of Thai cuisine in Czech schools also echoes the latest policy of Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic whichstrongly intends to promote healthy food in schools. At the launching ceremony, the press conference of the project was held along with the training course of Thai cuisine cooking for chefs from school canteens. The project will be officially started in all 21 schools in April.
