Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay an Official Visit to Thailand

H.E. Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, is paying an official visit to Thailand as guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 9 to 11 March 2016.

During the visit, H.E. Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to meet with H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand on 10 March 2016. Their topics of discussion include ways and means to enhance cooperation in key areas of mutual interests, especially the promotion of trade and investment as well as cooperation in the regional and international fora. Afterwards, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai will host a dinner in honour of H.E. Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif and his delegation.

On 11 March 2016, H.E. Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif will pay a courtesy call on H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand, to discuss bilateral issues and cooperation between both countries.

Thailand and Iran established diplomatic relations on 9 November 1955. However, the historical ties date back more than 400 years, since the Ayutthaya period and the Persian Empire. The two countries have enjoyed cordial relations and are working together towards closer cooperation and partnership.
