The Department of ASEAN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, will host the ASEAN Music Festival, themed “Switch on ASEAN - Beats Beyond Borders”, to celebrate ASEAN as a single Community, on 29 - 31 January 2016 at 17.00 - 21.00 hrs. at Benjasiri Park, Bangkok.

The event, featuring artists from all ten ASEAN countries, aims to promote ASEAN identity and unity through contemporary arts, music and culture under the shared vision and emerging identity of ASEAN, according to Mr. Jakkrit Srivali, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs.

The opening ceremony in the evening of 29 January 2016, hosted by H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will be joined by the Ambassadors of ASEAN countries in Bangkok, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, invited guests, media and the general public. The 3-day Festival will feature artists from all 10 ASEAN countries, including Putri Norizah (Brunei Darussalam), Laura Mam (Cambodia), Afgansyah Reza and Rio Sidik (Indonesia), Alexandra Bounxouei and CELLS (Lao PRD), Daphne Khoo, Sharoul and Poova (Malaysia), Ah Moon and Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thien (Myanmar), Portia Rana and the Philippines Connection (the Philippines), Daphne Khoo (Singapore), 25 Hours, Room 39, Pop Pongkool, Kai Aunchalee from The Voice Thailand, Byrd & Heart, Korphai and See Yod (Thailand), and Viet Wonder (Viet Nam). In addition, traditional arts & performances to showcase the diverse cultures of ASEAN will be recreated and presented by Todd Tongdee.
