          At the invitation of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran,
His Excellency Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand,
will pay an official visit and lead the Thai delegation to the Ninth Meeting of the Joint Commission
on Economic, Commercial, Industrial, Technical, Agricultural and Scientific Cooperation between
Thailand and Iran to be held in Tehran during 22 – 25 January 2016.

          The Minister of Foreign Affairs will co-chair the Meeting with His Excellency
Mr. Mohammed Reza Nematzadeh, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran. The Foreign Minister
is also to meet with His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif, Minister of Foreign Affairs and other
high-ranking officials of Iran during the visit.

          The Thailand – Iran JC Meeting is a mechanism for consultation and coordination between
the two countries on diverse areas of cooperation. The 9th JC Meeting will focus on the promotion
of bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, business, investment, finance, technical cooperation,
agriculture, science, energy, and tourism between the two countries. Both sides will also review
the progress made in their cooperation as well as identify new areas for possible joint effort, with a view
to expanding future economic cooperation.
          In preparation for the 9th JC Meeting, agencies concerned of both countries have been
working closely together since the conclusion of their 8th JC Meeting held during 22 – 24 February 2010 in Bangkok.
