On 15th January, 2016 Mr. Jakkrit Srivali, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs gave a warm welcome to 80 participants, including lecturers, 40 students from ASEAN Member Countries and Thai students from “The Second ASEAN For All: BSRU ASEAN Youth Camp for Enhancement of Language and Cultural Cooperation in ASEAN” from Ban Somdej Chaopraya Rajabhat University at 11.00-12.00 hours, Narathip Auditorium, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On this occasion, the Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs gave a special lecture on “Future Direction of ASEAN Community” for the participants to have an overview on future direction and cooperation in ASEAN Community, after the ASEAN leaders signed the “2015 Kuala Lumpur Declaration on the Establishment of the ASEAN Community” and “Kuala Lumpur Declaration on the ASEAN 2025: Forging Ahead Together” to adopt ASEAN Political-Security Community Blueprint 2025, ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025, and ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025 shaping ASEAN’s engagement in next ten years. The lecture is intended to enhance knowledge and deepen the understanding among lecturers and students for their preparation to live in the new context of ASEAN Community.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has developed fruitful cooperation with Rajabhat University Network through the annual “Train the Trainers” programme for lecturers of Rajabhat Universities nationwide. The training programme aims at promoting a better understanding of developments in the ASEAN Community, and wider dissemination of information to education personnel of Thailand.
