During 10 – 13 January 2016, H.E. Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will pay an official visit to Thailand as guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The OIC Secretary General is scheduled to attend the “Symposium on Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence in Multicultural Societies” co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) of the OIC,  on 11 January 2016 at the Anantara Siam Hotel.

During the visit, the OIC Secretary General will pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Sheikhul Islam (Chularajmontri) of Thailand, and high – level officials.

OIC was established in 1969. Currently the organization consists of 57 member states. Thailand became observer state on 1 October 1998.
