Thailand is deeply concerned by an announcement from the Government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) that it has successfully conducted yet another nuclear test. This highly deplorable act not only violates the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, but also has undermined the collective efforts by the international community towards non-proliferation and denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

            Thailand strongly urges the DPRK to fully abide by the relevant UNSC Resolutions, and to immediately halt its nuclear development programme. Thailand also calls upon the resumption of the Six-Party Talks, for the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula.
