On 3 December 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy, Kuala Lumpur, organized a reception on the Auspicious Occasion of the 88th Birthday Anniversary of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej, at Grand Ballroom, Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur. During the event, Y.B. Datuk Wee Ka Siong, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, who attended as Guest of Honour, represented the Government of Malaysia in wishing for good health and wellbeing of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej, while H.E. Mr. Damrong Kraikruan, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, wished for good health and wellbeing of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. 

 

            Apart from the Guest of Honour, the reception was attended by over 500 persons representing the government, business, academic, media and civil society sectors of Malaysia, the Diplomatic Corps, as well as the Thai Community in Kuala Lumpur and nearby states. Among the important dignitaries who attended the reception were Y.A.Bhg. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Y.Bhg. Gen. Tan Sri Zulkifeli bin Mohd Zin, Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces, Y.Bhg. Dato' Othman Hashim, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, and Samdech Reach Botrei Preah Anoch Norodom Arunrasmy, Ambassador of Cambodia and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps.
