On 3 November 2015, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered his keynote address during the opening session of the Asia – Pacific Business Forum (APBF) 2015 at the United Nations Convention Center, Bangkok to more than 100 public and private sectors representatives from Thailand and other countries who attended the session. Earlier, the opening remarks were given by Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) delivered the opening remarks. The Asia – Pacific Business Forum is held annually as a platform for the private and public sectors and international organizations to exchange views and ideas on issues pertinent to the region. This year marks the 12th session of the APBF, and was organized jointly by UNESCAP, the ESCAP Business Advisory Council (EBAC), the Trade and Industry Association of Singapore (TIAS), and the Mekong Institute.

The main theme of this year’s Forum is “Driving Growth and Sustainability through Business”. The discussions covered harnessing entrepreneurship and technology for sustainable development as wells as how to create sustainable businesses.
