From 8 – 10 October 2015, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will visit the People’s Republic of China as an official guest of H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. This Official Visit is one of the activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand-China diplomatic relations.

On 9 October 2015, the Minister of Foreign Affairs is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on H.E.  Mr. Li Keqiang, the Premier of the People’s Republic of China and H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of People’s Republic of China, as well as co-host the reception to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand-China diplomatic relations with H.E. Ms. Yan Junqi, Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China. On 10 October 2015, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will host a Team Thailand meeting where he will meet with the Ambassador of Thailand to China and Consuls-Generals as well as the Thai private sector based in China.

Thailand and China have been holding events throughout this year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand-China diplomatic relations. Both sides have enjoyed close and cordial relations over the years, with frequent exchanges of high-level visits and positive cooperation in all areas. In 2012, Thailand and China elevated their bilateral relations to a strategic comprehensive cooperative partnership. Last year, more than 4.6 million Chinese tourists visited Thailand, making the China the number one inbound country; that number is expected to rise this year. Also in 2014, the trade volume between Thailand and China totaled 63,583 million US dollars, and Chinese investment in Thailand amounted to 33,707 million Thai baht, or 10 per cent of Thailand’s total FDI.
