On 30th September 2015, H.E. Mr. Yasuhisa Shiozaki, Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan and Chairman of the Thailand - Japan Parliamentary Friendship League paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand. H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting. The discussion focused on the overview of Thailand – Japan relationship. On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister outlined Thailand’s investment policy which attaches importance to the development of industrial clusters promotes the special economic zones and the incentives for foreign investors. The Deputy Prime Minister also encouraged Japanese companies to invest in industrial clusters especially the advanced innovation and technology cluster. Furthermore, The Thai Government also put emphasis on the development of logistical connectivity across and its neighboring countries especially the development of the East – West Economic Corridor where many Japanese private sectors have their the production bases along the corridor. 

H.E. Mr. Shiozaki visited Thailand during 29th – 30th September 2015 as the guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. This visit aimed to strengthen the relations and cooperation between Thailand and Japan particularly on health matters. Subsequently, H.E. Mr. Shiozaki paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, the Minister of Public Health and met the Thailand - Japan Parliamentary Friendship League and Thai medical alumni graduating from universities in Japan. He also witnessed the signing ceremony of the agreement on the cooperation between the National Cancer Institute of Thailand and Nagoya University at the National Cancer Institute of Thailand.
