On 17th September 2017, H.E. Mr. Kesang Wangdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of completing his tenure of office in Thailand.
H.E. Mr. Kesang Wangdi expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ support to the Embassy of Bhutan during his tenure and was pleased with close and 25 years of cordial ties between the two nations. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Wangdi hoped to further strengthen cooperation with Thailand in the field of technical programs in order to improve human resources in Bhutan, especially on helicopters aviation training and the United Nations Peacekeeping Operation, in which Thailand has abundant experiences and is renowned internationally. On economic aspects, Bhutan is ready to promote Thailand agricultural product, such as, mushroom, which is amongst the top imported agricultural products in Bhutanese market. Over the years, Thailand and Bhutan have had constant exchanges of visits at various levels including Royal Families and high level official visits, as well as official bilateral meetings. H.E. Mr. Wangdi proposed that both sides countinue to keep the momentum of the exchanges of high level.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s contribution and dedication to promote of Thai- Bhutanese relations and cooperation. The Minister also took this opportunity to inform the Ambassador the Political Reform, which is still underway, in accordance with the Thai Government’s roadmap.
