On September 9th, 2015, Mr. Jakkrit Srivali, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, was paid
a courtesy call on by Mr. Said Faisal, Executive Director of the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian
Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre) and delegates from the AHA Centre and the ASEAN Secretariat
as part of the "One ASEAN, One Response Roadshow". Both sides discussed furthering ASEAN cooperation
in disaster management and expressed support on the " ASEAN Declaration on One ASEAN, One Response:
ASEAN Responding to Disasters as One in the Region and Outside the Region" which is due to be adopted
at the 27th ASEAN Summit in November 2015.

On September 10th, 2015, the Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs was a guest speaker
at the "One ASEAN One Response & ASEAN Resilience Symposium" at the Avani Atrium Bangkok Hotel
on the topic "Thailand's role in building a Resilient ASEAN Community". The Director-General addressed
that natural disasters in the region are more frequent and have intensified, which affects the economic and
social development of the countries. ASEAN cooperation in disaster management through the
"ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response" (AADMER) and the AHA Centre
remains one of the strong cooperation of ASEAN.
