         On 9th September 2015, Mr. Suvat Chirapant, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs donated 800,000 Bahts to Mr. Sutham Boonmalert, the representative of the Sheikhul Islam of Thailand to support Thai Muslims during this year’s Hajj pilgrimage. The Sheikhul Islam of Thailand will lead 10,400 Thai Muslims to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on the Hajj Pilgrimage.

         On this occasion, the Deputy Permanent Secretary reaffirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ support for the Hajj Pilgrimage, and the role of Sheikhul Islam of Thailand since 2008. Furthermore, the Deputy Permanent Secretary congratulated and praised the Sheikhul Islam success on the successful Hajj Pilgrimage, for the Thai Muslims.

         The Representative of the Sheikhul Islam of Thailand expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their continued support and assistant, which have contributed to the successful Hajj Pilgrimage for Thai Muslims over the years.

         The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other related organisations have been working closely with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Thailand to facilitate visa and immigration services to Thai Muslims, who wished to attend the Hajj Pilgrimage. Moreover, the Royal Thai Consulate General in Jeddah has been the main focal point in providing assistant to Thai Muslims during the Hajj Pilgrimage.
