On 28-29 August 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy, in cooperation with the Egyptian Muay Thai Association (EMTA), organized “Muay Thai Cairo’s Cup: Muay Thai Championship” in Egypt at AUFC Academy, Heliopolis, Cairo. The event was attended by over 500 participants per day.   

 

            48 Egyptian Muay Thai boxers competed for the Cup. The winners, who were awarded 1,500 Egyptian pounds and championship belt, are as follows

- Men, Weight not over 51 kilograms: Mr. Mohamed Khaled Mohamed el kailany el maslihy

- Men, Weight not over 61 kilograms: Mr. Mahmoud Gamal Mohamed Mabrouk

- Men, Weight not over 71 kilograms: Mr. Ahmed Soliman Mohamed Kamel Soliman

- Men, Weight not over 76 kilograms: Mr. Mahmoud Zakariya Mohamed Ibrahim

- Men, Weight not over 81 kilograms: Mr. Ahmed Samy Abdelmonen Bakr Ali

- Men, Weight not over 91 kilograms: Mr. Ibrahim el Sawy Ibrahim Mohamed

 

            The 2nd place was awarded 750 Egyptian pounds and trophy. The Embassy aims to promote Muay Thai to be widely known and more popular in Egypt.
