On 11 August 2015, H.E. Gen. Surasak Karnjanarat, Minister of Labour of Thailand, and several executives from the Thai Ministry of Labour together with H.E. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, the Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil, attended the inauguration ceremony of the 43th São Paulo WorldSkills International at IbirapueraPark. There were around 8,500 persons participated in the opening ceremony. “The World Chose Brazil” was performed and reflected the potential of various regions in Brazil.
Both H.E. Mr. Amando Monteiro Neto, Minister of Development, Industrial and International Trade (MDIC) of Brazil and H.E. Mr. Renato Janine Ribeiro, Minister of Education of Brazil co-presided over theopening ceremony. They stressed the importance of vocational education and human resource development that benefitted to industrial and economic development. They also wished all the participating youths good luck and hoped that they had memorable experiences for their career development.
On 12 August 2015, H.E. Mr. Ambassador of Thailand accompanied the Minister of Labour of Thailand and M.L. Puntrik Smiti, Director-General of Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour of Thailand to Anhembi Park in São Paulo to cheer the Thai participating youths at the 43th São Paulo WorldSkills International. Mr. Ambassador wished all theparticipating youths many successes in their competing fields.
The Thai participating youths won the gold medal in CNC Turning & Molding and the Bronze medal in the Material welding, as well as received 10 certificates of skill achievement.
