            On 12 - 13 August 2015, H.E. Mr. Tomwit Jarnson,  Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan attended the 3rd Session of Thailand – Pakistan Joint Trade Committee (JTC) at Serena Hotel, Islamabad. The meeting was co-chaired by H.E. General Chatchai Sarikulya, Minister of Commerce of Thailand and H.E. Mr. Khurram Dastgir Khan, Minister of Commerce of Pakistan. The Meeting announced the commencement of negotiations of Thailand – Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (FTA) which were expected to be concluded in 2017. Thailand – Pakistan FTA will help increase their trade volume. Thailand can serve as a hub of ASEAN’s markets for 600 million people while Pakistan is viewed as a gateway to Central Asia, Middle East, and western region of China. Besides, Ambassador also attended Business Matching session in which more than 100 Pakistani entrepreneurs participated. Thai products which received great attention from Pakistan entrepreneurs were automobile and motorcycle’s spare parts, food products, and construction equipments.
