On 8 August 2015, the ASEAN Committee in Mexico City which consists of  Embassy of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam jointly organized the 48th ASEAN Day Celebration at the Thai Residence in Mexico City. The objective is to enhance knowledge about the ASEAN Community in Mexico City and foster solidarity and unity among ASEAN diplomats. The event was attended by all Ambassadors and officials of the Embassies of five ASEAN countries in Mexico, as well as by representatives of Mexican media.

 

            During the ceremony, H.E. Catalino R. Dilem, Jr., Ambassador of the Philippines to Mexico and Current Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Mexico City, gave opening remarks followed by the ASEAN flag ceremony and the ASEAN anthem. All attendants then joined in an ASEAN lunch featuring a variety of national dishes of the five countries. In the afternoon, the ASEAN bowling tournament was held where all family members of ASEAN diplomats participated as well.
