On 6 August Consul-General Jackrid Kanjanasoon held a meeting with teachers and administrators from schools and academic offices in Kelantan at Sultan Ismail Collage concerning the implementation of the year 2015’s cultural exchange program between educational institutes in Thailand and Malaysia. The project will begin on 28 August to 2 September 2015 with the Consulate bringing 40 personals from 9 schools and academic offices in Kelantan (Sultan Ismail College, Pengkalan Chepa National Secondary School, Penambang National Secondary School, SK Kampong Berangan, SMK Ismail Petra, Sekolah Kebangsaan Tawang, SMK Kubang Kerian 3, Pejabat Pendidkan Daerah Bachok and Pejabat Pendidkan Daerah Tumpat) on a trip to Thailand to learn about Thai culture and history, as well as promote cooperation with Thai educational institutes, under the "Thailand-Malaysia Cultural Exchange Program".
Thai educational institutes that took part in the program are Benjamarachutit School (Pattani), Bunditpatanasilpa Institute and the Foundation for Islamic Center of Thailand (in Bangkok). It will be one of the many programs sponsored by the Royal Thai Consulate-General, to promote people-to-people contact between the two countries, which will help addressing security issues as well as preparing the peoples for the forthcoming ASEAN Community.
