On 22 April 2015, H.E. Mrs. Kobkarn Suriyasat Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Henrique Eduardo Alves, Minister of Tourism of Brazil, at the World Travel Market (WTM) Latin America. H.E. Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil, Mrs. Juthaporn Rerngronasa, Deputy Governor for International Marketing, Europe, Africa, Middle East & America of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) as well as Mrs. Kulpramote Wannalert, Director of TAT, Los Angeles Office also participated in the meeting.

 

            During the meeting, bilateral cooperation in the area of tourism between Thailand and Brazil was discussed. Both sides share common interest in promoting tourism collaboration and expediting the negotiation on the Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism between Brazil and Thailand to be used as a basis for tourism cooperation and promotion. The Thai Minister introduced the Brazilian Minister about the “Discover Thainess” campaign in which special events and activities will be held throughout the year to raise awareness on “Thainess” among Thai and foreign tourists the image of The Minister also invited the Brazilian Minister to pay an official visit to Thailand at his convenience.
