H.E. Mrs. Kobkarn Suriyasat Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, and her delegation from Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) participated in the World Travel Market (WTM) Latin America held in Sao Paulo, Brazil on 21 – 24 April 2015.

 

            On 21 April 2015, H.E. Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil hosted a dinner in honour of the Minister and her delegation. Team Thailand in Brazil, namely, Mrs. Thassanee Wanick, Honorary Consul General of Thailand in Sao Paulo, Mr. Khamheang Klasukhon, Director of Thai Trade Center in Sao Paulo and Jefferson Santos, TAT marketing representative in Brazil also joined in the event. During the dinner, Mr. Ambassador briefed the Minister about the bilateral activities with Brazil organized by the Embassy and Team Thailand, especially, the cultural and tourism promotion. The Minister congratulated Team Thailand and believed that Brazil was the potential market for Thai Tourism, citing the annual increase of more than 20 percent of Brazilians tourists to Thailand in the past few years.

 

            On 22 April 2015, The Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand presided over “Discover Thainess Lunch”, a lunch aimed to promote Thailand and to network among Brazilian travel agencies and airlines, with 135 participants. On the same day, at the WTM, the Minister had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Henrique Eduardo Alves, Minister of Tourism of Brazil as well as meetings with Brazilian Association of Tourism Operators (Brastoa)’s representatives, travel agencies and airlines.
