During 13-15 March 2015, The Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta organized the annual “Get-Together of Thai Students in Indonesia (Get-Together 2015)” in Jakarta. The event was attended by 529 Thai students from various cities all over Indonesia, namely Aceh, Bandung, Batam, Bogor, Jakarta, Jember, Kediri, Madiun, Magelang, Makassar, Malang, Palembang, Ponorogo, Purwokerto, Riau, Salatiga, Samarinda, Semarang, Surakarta, Tulungagung and Yogyakarta.

 

            This Get-Together 2015 includes a briefing on ASEAN Community 2015, study visits to Indonesia’s historical sites such as the National Museum, National Monument and Masjid Istiqlal, as well as ice-breaking activities and fun games to further strengthen friendship among the Thai students in Indonesia.

 

            The Royal Thai Embassy, with support and contribution from Team Thailand, Thai businessmen and the Thai community in Indonesia, initiated the Get-Together project in 2007 and has henceforth carried out the project annually. The main objective of the project is to promote closer relations among the Thai students living in Indonesia which would contribute to the strengthening of the Thai community in Indonesia as a whole.
