         General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will pay an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to attend the 2nd Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation  (JCBC) between Thailand and Viet Nam on 19 – 20 March 2015.
         During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs will co-chair the 2nd Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation with Mr. Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam. The meeting aims to follow-up on the results from the official visit by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on 26 – 27 November 2014 as well as explore ways and means to enhance cooperation in all aspects, including political-security, economic and socio-cultural cooperation.
         Since the establishment of official diplomatic ties in 1976, Thailand and Viet Nam have enjoyed close and cordial ties. There have been many high level exchanges of visit. In 2014, bilateral trade between the two countries amount to over 11 billion USD, making Thailand the biggest trading partner of Viet Nam in ASEAN. On Tourism, over 550,000 Vietnamese tourists visited Thailand last year.
